MediaTek Expands ASIC Product Line Industry's First 7nm Intellectual Property

IC design giant MediaTek announced on the 10th that it has introduced the industry's first 56-Gigabit PAM4 SerDes intellectual property (IP) with a 7-nm FinFET silicon certification (Silicon-Proven) to further expand its ASIC product line. MediaTek said that the 56G SerDes solution is based on digital signal processing (DSP) technology, using high-speed signal transmission PAM4, with best-in-class performance, power consumption and die-area. At present, the 56G SerDes intellectual property has been verified by 7-nm and 16-nm prototype chip entities to ensure that the intellectual property can be easily integrated into various front-end product designs.

MediaTek further pointed out that its SerDes product portfolio can provide solutions ranging from 10G, 28G, 56G to 112G for ASIC chip design. MediaTek's ASIC services and product portfolio are aimed at a variety of applications, including enterprise-class and ultra-large-scale data centers, ultra-high performance network switches, routers, 4G/5G infrastructure, artificial intelligence and deep learning applications, UHF bandwidth, and Long-distance transmission of a new type of state computing applications.

In addition, MediaTek also provides ASIC services to help customers seeking professional design and customized chip design solutions to expand business opportunities in various fields. In various fields, including wired and wireless communications, ultra-high performance computing, low-power IoT, wireless connectivity, personal multimedia, advanced sensors, and radio frequency. MediaTek's ASIC service scope is expected to cover system and platform design, system single-chip design, system integration and physical layout, production support and product introduction at any stage from the front-end to the back-end.

MediaTek pointed out that the first product using 56G SerDes intellectual property is under development and is expected to be officially listed in the second half of 2018.
